Nursery and Reception will be enjoying the theme of .Magic Beans' this term! They will explore stories and traditional tales based around growth and the well know tale of 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. They will think about the conventions of a traditional tale and explore character, plot, and setting through their play.
They will be planting their own magic beans and exploring the conditions needed for a plant to grow big and strong. They will think about what lives in and just above the soil and why these animals are important.
As part of STEM Week 2018 the children have become 'Soil Detectives'. They have listened to the story of 'The Tiny Seed' by Eric Carle and explored why soil is so important and the different materials that make up soil. They have considered why worms and other animals are importnat to the soil and how soil helps plants to grow.
