School meals cost £1.90 per a day. Prior to the end of each half-term, a letter will be sent out to parents with the costs for the next period as well as details of any credits/debits.

There is a legal right for any person to ask a school for access to information that it holds. The aim of the FOIA is to promote a culture of openess and accountability amongst public sector bodies. This should improve public understanding of how public authorities ( which includes the governing bodies of schools) carry out their duties, why they make the decisions they do, and how they spend public money.

The FOI is overseen by the Information Commissioner who also has a responsibility for the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA), and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR).
The Data protection Act 1998 enables individuals to access information about themselves.
The Environmental Information Regulations 2004 enables people to access environmental information.
The FOIA enables people to access all other information and the reasoning behind decisions and policies, which do not fall under DPA or EIR.
Although FOI presumes openess it recognisies the need to protect sensitive information in certain circumstances and provides exemptions.
Broomley First School is under a duty to provide advice and assistance to anyone requesting information.
The enquirer is entitled to be told whether the school holds the information (the duty to confirm or deny) except where certain exemptions apply.
A valin FOI request should be in writing, state the enquirer's name and correspondence address and describe the information requested.
Contact the headteacher for further information .
Expressions of dissatisfaction should be handled through the school's existing complaints procedure.
